REDCAT Hosts "earjam" New Music Festival

Los Angeles, May 24 -- earjam IV, the fourth edition of the celebrated earjam new music festival, comes to the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts (REDCAT) for two evenings of performances on June 19 and 20. Each evening's program begins at 8:30 p.m. and includes two sets and two extended group improvisations. earjam IV features a total of 18 Los Angeles-based solo artists and groups.
First launched in 2000 at Side Street LIVE, earjam is an annual showcase for a diverse cross-section of the most creative composers and performers in Los Angeles. Writing about a previous installment of earjam, Peter Frank of the L.A. Weekly noted that "if things keep going like this, the two-day, several-hour-a-night blowout will become L.A.'s primo annual new local music fest."
earjam IV is produced by sound, performance and visual artist Jacki Apple and singer, composer and artist Julie Adler.

General admission is $24 for each program or $40 for both evenings. Admission to each program is $12 for students and $18 for CalArts alumni and members of the American Composers Forum.
