"Wizards of new music." Alan Rich

The high-flying ensemble marks Valentine’s Day with a new music concert for lovers. The EAR Unit presents the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s LUVN BLM, a piece commissioned for the ensemble by Helene Mirich Spear in loving memory of her husband Julian Spear. Other “lovely” works on the program include the West Coast premiere of Eric Chasalow’s Flute Concerto, as well as other Valentine’s Day treats and surprises.
