MARKUS STOCKHAUSEN
AND TARA BOUMAN:
MOVING SOUNDS

"A new star in heaven: Markus Stockhausen, trumpeter supreme... His artistry amazes." The Times (London)

The exceptionally intuitive German trumpeter, composer and sonic innovator Markus Stockhausen teams up with Dutch clarinetist Tara Bouman. Stockhausen, son of composer Karlheinz, is hailed not only as one of the leading soloists in the world today but also as a fearless, genre-defying pioneer, moving between ambient, postbop and avant-baroque chamber music. Stockhausen and Bouman open by exploring finespun dimensions of sound and silence before being joined by leading Los Angeles musicians -- including reed man Vinny Golia, trumpeter Daniel Rosenboom, and violinist and pianist David Rosenboom -- for a more expansive set.
