The exceptionally intuitive German trumpeter, composer and sonic innovator Markus Stockhausen teams up with Dutch clarinetist Tara Bouman for a first-ever Los Angeles appearance. Stockhausen, son of composer Karlheinz, is hailed not only as one of the leading soloists in the world today but also as a fearless, genre-defying innovator, moving between ambient, postbop and avant-baroque chamber music. Stockhausen and Bouman open by exploring finespun dimensions of sound and silence before being joined by leading Los Angeles musicians—including pianist and composer David Rosenboom and guitarist Miroslav Tadic—for a more expansive set.
