SPLITTING INFINITY
Staged reading and award ceremony | Presented by the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Professional Artists Lab and the California Nanosystems Institute

This special event honors the winner of the first STAGE (Scientists, Technologists and Artists Generating Exploration) International Script Competition for the best new play about science and technology. This year's top prize will be presented to Jamie Pachino for her play Splitting Infinity, and the script will be performed by actors Sharon Lawrence and Saul Rubinek, under the direction of Nancy Kawalek. Splitting Infinity follows a Nobel Prize-winning astrophysicist who single-mindedly pursues evidence of God through physics, while simultaneously upsetting the balance of her relationships with her oldest and closest friend, a rabbi, and her star post-doctoral student, the son of a Christian Scientist.

A reception follows with Nobel Laureate David Gross (2004 Physics), the playwright, cast, director and additional distinguished professionals from the arts and science worlds in attendance. For more information on the programs behind the STAGE International Script Award, visit:
