Times and prices

Known for its unique ragajazz compositions and improvisations, Arohi features CalArts alum Paul Livingstone playing fretless 9- and 11-string guitars and world strings; Pedro Eustache playing bansuri, flutes and woodwinds; Anand Bennett playing electric mandacello and contrabass; and Leonice Shinemann playing Afro/Indian drum set. Hands On'Semble, a contemporary hand drumming quartet, is led by CalArts' world-renowned percussionist and composer John Bergamo and features fellow faculty member Randy Gloss and alumni Andrew Grueschow and Austin Wrinkle. The Liän Ensemble's mystical Sufi music draws on the rich music and poetry of Persia while expanding tradition into new aural realms. The group features Pirayeh Pourafar on tar; Mashid Mirzadeh on santur; Houman Pourmehdi on tonbak, daf and ney; vocalists Siamak Shadjarian and Soleyman Vaziri; and CalArts faculty member David Johnson on marimba.
