It is often said that the music of Johann Sebastian Bach transcends the time in which it was created. In this unusual concert, the virtuoso instrumentalists of Bach's Circle-Allan Vogel on oboe, Janice Tipton on flute, Patricia Mabee on harpsichord, Julie Feves on bassoon, Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick on cello, Elizabeth Baker on violin and Mark Menzies on viola-experiment with musical juxtapositions that span nearly three centuries of composition. The program includes music from J.S. Bach's The Musical Offering, Johann Christian Bach's Quintet in E-fl at major, Iannis Xenakis' ikhoor and Vinko Globokar's Correspondences, among other works.
