CalArts alumnus Carl Stone gives the U.S. premiere of a new work as part of the annual festival presented by the Southern California Resource for Electro-Acoustic Music (SCREAM), a loose consortium of Los Angeles-area colleges and universities that offer programs in electro-acoustic music. Stone is a leading practitioner of live computer music and his works have been performed throughout the world. The festival also features work by David Bradfield, Tom Flaherty, Bernardo Feldman, Rodney Oakes and CalArts composition faculty Barry Schrader and Mark Trayle. Featured performers include the vocal group Just Jazz! with Julie Lawson directing, Rodney Oakes on MIDI trombone, dancer and choreographer Tomas Tamayo, Vicki Ray on piano and Mark Trayle on computer and live electronics.
