Ecofeminisms: Practices of Survivance Series

Salar Mameni

About

Salar Mameni, author of Terracene: A Crude Aesthetics, addresses the role of militarism in the ecological crises we currently face. Presented by CalArts MA Program in Aesthetics and Politics, this speaker series explores feminist intersections with ecopolitical issues such as extractivism, Indigenous sovereignty, colonialism, war, and multispecies relations. Each installment presents leading-edge feminist thought on survival and resistance in this time of climate emergency.

I believe that the very shift of attention to the earth’s many potentialities can also allow for conceptualizing futures out of toxic wastelands.
